MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Police in Tennessee Sunday are offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the capture of alleged cop killer Tremaine Wilbourn, who reportedly shot and killed officer Sean Bolton on Saturday evening.
Wilbourn is considered armed and dangerous.
According to ABC News, Wilbourn, 29, was out on supervised release for a 10-year federal sentence for bank robbery when Officer Sean Bolton spotted an illegally parked 2002 Mercedes in a southeast Memphis neighborhood late Saturday night.
After shining the squad car’s spotlight into it, the suspect got out of the car and the two scuffled before he allegedly shot the officer, Armstrong said. Both the suspect responsible for the shooting and the driver of the vehicle fled the scene before additional officers arrived, police said.
Bolton, 33, who was hospitalized in critical condition, later died from his injuries.
